Terms and Conditions: Shipping & Trade Terms
1. Trade Terms & Cost Responsibilities
Kuulee Glass offers flexible trade terms to accommodate our international clients. The following outlines the cost responsibilities for each method:
EXW (Ex Works):
The buyer bears all costs and risks involved in transporting the goods from our factory premises. This includes loading, international freight, insurance, customs clearance, and all destination charges.
FCA (Free Carrier) by Air:
We are responsible for delivering the goods, cleared for export, to the named carrier at the specified airport. The buyer bears all costs and risks from that point forward, including air freight, insurance, import duties, and taxes.
FOB (Free On Board):
We are responsible for delivering the goods onto the vessel at the port of shipment. The buyer bears all costs and risks from that point forward, including sea freight, insurance, import duties, and taxes.
CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight):
We pay for the cost of the goods, marine insurance, and all freight charges to the named port of destination. Risk transfers to the buyer once the goods are loaded on the ship. The buyer is responsible for all import duties, taxes, and costs after arrival at the destination port.
CFR / CNF (Cost and Freight):
Similar to CIF, but the buyer is responsible for arranging and paying for marine insurance. We cover the cost of the goods and freight to the destination port.
FBA (Fulfillment by Amazon) Shipments:
We deliver the goods to the specified Amazon fulfillment center or designated forwarder. The buyer is responsible for all costs, fees, and procedures from that point forward, including all Amazon-related charges and import formalities.
DAP (Delivered at Place):
We bear all costs and risks to deliver the goods to a named place of destination, ready for unloading by the buyer. The buyer is responsible for all applicable import duties, taxes, and customs clearance fees.
DDP (Delivered Duty Paid):
We bear all costs and risks, including all import duties and taxes, to deliver the goods to the named place of destination in the buyer’s country. This is the most comprehensive option for the buyer.
2. Taxes, Duties, and Fees
The responsibility for payment of any import duties, value-added tax (VAT), goods and services tax (GST), customs brokerage fees, or other applicable taxes is determined by the chosen trade term (as detailed above).
For terms where the buyer is responsible (e.g., DAP, EXW, FOB), the buyer acts as the importer of record and is solely responsible for complying with all import regulations and paying all charges levied by the destination country’s authorities.
All prices on our website or in quotations are exclusive of these import-related taxes and duties, unless explicitly stated as DDP.
3. Freight Weight Calculations
For air and sea freight shipments, the chargeable weight per carton is calculated between 12KG to 22KG.
Any carton with a weight less than 12KG will be charged as 12KG.
The maximum weight per carton must not exceed 22KG.
4. General Provisions & Recommendations
The chosen trade term shall be interpreted in accordance with the latest version of Incoterms® rules.
It is the buyer’s sole responsibility to provide accurate and complete shipping/destination instructions.
Kuulee Glass will provide necessary commercial documents (e.g., commercial invoice, packing list) to assist with customs clearance. Any additional documentation required by the buyer’s country is the buyer’s responsibility to specify and may incur additional charges.
Please note: The DDP term is the most preferred option for the majority of our clients, as it is the most cost-effective and hassle-free solution. This term shows its greatest advantage when the shipment weight exceeds 16KG for air freight or 21KG for sea freight.
